To load a Kaspi, Halyk or Forte statement into 1C, export it from online banking in the “1C” format. This is a text file for exchange with “Bank client” systems. PDF and Excel are not suitable for loading: the first is for printing, the second is meant for a person, while the standard data processor expects a text file. In 1C:Accounting for Kazakhstan, the statement is loaded with the “Bank client” data processor in the “Bank and cash” section. You specify the file and encoding, refresh the list, sort out the highlighted lines and click “Load”. Halyk clients can do without files entirely, via 1C:DirectBank. Below: which formats banks provide, how to prepare the database, why counterparties should be matched by BIN/IIN, and where garbled text, duplicates and “foreign” accounts come from.
Which statement format 1C needs
Online banks provide statements in several formats. What matters is not how the file looks but whether the 1C data processor can read it.
| Format | What it is | For loading into 1C |
|---|---|---|
| “1C” (txt) | A text file following the 1C standard for exchange with “Bank client” systems | The main option: the standard data processor reads it |
| MT940, MT100 | Bank statement formats. Halyk calls MT940 a statement under the National Bank of Kazakhstan standard, and MT100 a statement for import into an accounting system | Depends on the data processor and release; test on a copy of the database |
| Excel, CSV, DBF | A table for viewing and editing | The standard data processor expects a file in the “1C” format. What remains is manual posting or a separate data processor |
| A document for printing; at Halyk, with a facsimile of the bank's seal and no editing | Cannot be loaded. Suitable for archiving and checking |
What is inside a “1C” format file
The format is described on the 1C Company website as a standard for exchange with “Bank client” systems; the current version of the description on the 1C website is 1.03. The file starts with the line 1CClientBankExchange. Then come the header (version, encoding, sender and recipient), balance sections for current accounts, document sections and the line KonetsFayla (EndOfFile). Balance sections are transferred only from the bank to 1C. The standard provides for two encodings: DOS and Windows.
A document in such a file is identified by four attributes: current account, document type, date and number. This determines whether duplicates appear on repeated loading; more about them below.
The file is generated by the bank. Renaming an Excel table to .txt will not help: the data processor reads the file structure, not the extension.
How to export a statement from Kaspi, Halyk and Forte
Below are only steps from the banks' official instructions. Interfaces change: if an item is named differently, look for the account statements section.
Kaspi Pay
According to the Kaspi Guide for partners, a statement in the 1C format is exported in the Kaspi Pay mobile app: “My Bank” → the account you need → “Statement”. The current month is shown by default, the period is changed with a filter, and the 1C format is chosen when exporting. Excel and PDF are also available.
The Kaspi statement has three features that matter for accounting:
- Sales arrive as lump sums. Money from sales via Kaspi Pay is credited to the account online after each payment, minus the fee. In the current account statement, it appears as two lump sums: “Sales from Kaspi.kz” (payment received) and “Payment for services for sales from Kaspi.kz” (fee). A breakdown of each transaction is in the Kaspi Pay app.
- The sender is not the buyer. Sales amounts are credited by Kaspi Bank JSC, which also debits refunds and some fees. Fees for accepting payment via QR and in the Store on Kaspi.kz are debited by Kaspi Pay LLP and Kaspi Magazin LLP. These three organizations should be added to the counterparty catalog in advance.
- Reconciliation with the report. Kaspi suggests downloading a statement and a sales report for the same period in the Kaspi Pay web version and reconciling them. The statement total (the difference between debit and credit) must match the report total (the amount to be credited minus all debits).
Halyk (Onlinebank Halyk)
In the bank's instructions for the OnlineBank HALYK Business system, the procedure is: select the account, set the period, click “Show”. The statement is available in PDF, XLS, MT100 and MT940 formats. MT100 is a text file that the bank explicitly describes as intended for import into an accounting system. The instructions were written for the previous version of the interface, so it is better to check the list of formats in your account. If there is no “1C” format, ask the bank which file it recommends for loading into 1C.
The second way is 1C:DirectBank. Halyk launched direct exchange with 1C using this technology in April 2017: payment orders go to the bank, and statements arrive in 1C without intermediate files. According to a 1C partner's instructions, connection requires 1C:Accounting for Kazakhstan version 3.0.35 or newer, a valid Onlinebank HALYK contract and an eTokenPASS device with a digital signature key, which is issued at a bank branch. Exchange is set up in “Administration” → “Electronic document exchange” → “Exchange with banks” → “Bank exchange settings”.
ForteBusiness
According to the ForteBusiness user guide, a statement is ordered in the “Statements” section. On the “Request” tab, select the account (several are possible), set the period and format and click “Order statement”. The finished file is downloaded on the “History” tab. There are seven formats: PDF, 1C, Excel, MT940, DBF, MTJDE and CSV. For loading into 1C, choose “1C”.
Summary table by bank
| Bank | Where to get the statement | Statement formats | Exchange without files |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kaspi | Kaspi Pay app: “My Bank” → account → “Statement” | 1C, Excel, PDF | Not listed among DirectBank banks on the 1C website |
| Halyk | Onlinebank: account → period → “Show” | PDF, XLS, MT100, MT940 (according to the bank's instructions) | 1C:DirectBank |
| Forte | ForteBusiness: “Statements” → “Request” | PDF, 1C, Excel, MT940, DBF, MTJDE, CSV | Not listed among DirectBank banks |
As of 1 October 2026, the official list of banks supporting DirectBank includes, from Kazakhstan, Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan, Bank CenterCredit and Altyn Bank.
How to load a statement into 1C:Accounting for Kazakhstan
In 1C:Accounting for Kazakhstan ed. 3.0, bank exchange is handled by the “Bank client” data processor. In release descriptions on the 1C-Kazakhstan website, it is called “Bank client (with DirectBank support)”. Fixes to it are also included in Basic version releases, so file exchange is available there too. The tab and button names below are taken from instructions by Kazakhstan 1C partners. In your release, they may differ slightly.
Preparation before the first load
- Organization account. The bank account must be added to the organization record. In the account record, on the “Bank exchange” tab, select the “Bank exchange enabled” checkbox and choose file exchange. Without this, the data processor will not show the account for loading.
- Default accounting accounts. In the “Bank client” data processor, click “Settings”. On the tabs for document types (incoming and outgoing payment orders, receipt and debit payment slips), specify the accounting accounts to be filled in documents. Save the settings with the “Apply settings” button.
- Closing date. Turn on the “Create and change documents only after the date” setting and specify the date up to which the period has already been checked. Then loading will not touch documents of closed periods.
- Counterparties. Check BIN/IIN for regular counterparties and remove duplicates. More details are in the next section.
- Backup. Make a copy of the database before the first load. If the settings turn out to be wrong, restoring everything will be faster than fixing a hundred documents.
Loading: step by step
- Save the statement in the “1C” format to your computer.
- Open “Bank and cash” → “Service” group → “Bank client” and go to the loading tab. In different releases, it is called “Import” or “Load bank statement”.
- In the “Import file” field, specify the file path, and in the “Encoding” field, the encoding in which the bank generated the file.
- Click “Refresh”, and the data processor will show the list of documents from the statement.
- Check the lines highlighted in red. Instructions from 1C partners explain this color differently (an error in the document, a new document or an already loaded one), so select the line and read the data processor's explanation.
- Sort out the highlighted lines, select the documents you need with checkboxes and click “Load”.
- Check the total: the account balance in 1C at the end of the period must match the closing balance in the bank statement.
Counterparties in the statement: why BIN/IIN matters
Every payment in Kazakhstan has party identifiers. Under the Rules for Non-Cash Payments (Resolution No. 208 of the National Bank Board), a payment order shows:
- the IIN or BIN of the payer and the beneficiary;
- their individual identification codes (IIC), that is, account numbers;
- the bank identification codes (BIC) of the banks;
- the payment purpose and its code (KNP);
- the payer code (KOd) and the beneficiary code (KBe).
The name in the statement may be abbreviated or written differently than in your database. A party has only one BIN or IIN, so it is the reliable key for finding a counterparty. If it is not filled in the record or has an error, the payment will have to be linked to the counterparty manually.
Where matching most often breaks
- The record has no BIN/IIN, or it has a typo. The data processor has nothing to compare the statement detail with.
- Two counterparties with the same BIN. Turnovers are split between two records, and the reconciliation statement with this counterparty stops matching.
- Branch. Under the law on national registers of identification numbers, a separate BIN is generated for a legal entity and also for its branch and representative office. A payment from a branch will come with the branch's BIN, not the head company's.
- Sole proprietor. A sole proprietor operating as an individual entrepreneur is registered by IIN; no new number is assigned. Only sole proprietors in the form of joint entrepreneurship get a BIN. So the record of a regular sole proprietor must have an IIN.
- Foreigners and stateless persons. For them, Rules No. 208 allow a payment without IIN/BIN: an address or document details are given instead of the number. Such lines will have to be matched manually.
- Kaspi. As mentioned above, money from sales comes from Kaspi Bank JSC, not from the buyer.
It is better to create new counterparties using details from official sources rather than from a statement line. If there are many records, this can be assigned to an assistant: the counterparty is created in 1C by BIN with a duplicate check.
Typical errors when loading a statement into 1C
| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Gibberish instead of text, Kazakh letters are missing | The encoding in the settings does not match the file encoding | Select in the data processor the same encoding in which the bank generated the file |
| The data processor does not see documents in the file | An Excel, PDF or other file the data processor cannot read was loaded | Re-export the statement in the “1C” format |
| Lines are highlighted in red | An error in the document, a new or already loaded document: 1C partner instructions differ | Select the line, read the explanation, check the number, BIN/IIN and account |
| The counterparty was not matched | No record, an error in BIN/IIN, a payment from a branch or a non-resident | Fix the record or select the counterparty manually |
| Documents do not load or go to the wrong account | The account from the file is not added to the organization record, exchange is not enabled for it, or the wrong organization is selected | Add the account, enable exchange, check the organization |
| Payments are duplicated | A statement for the same period was loaded twice, or the payment was entered manually earlier with a different number | Delete duplicates, load without overlapping periods, enable the closing date |
| The balance in 1C does not equal the bank balance | A day was skipped, some documents were not posted or were deleted, there are duplicates | Reconcile daily turnovers with the statement |
| Kaspi sales arrived as lump sums | That is how the Kaspi Pay statement works | Post them according to the sales report from Kaspi Pay |
Encoding: where garbled text comes from
The 1C standard provides for DOS and Windows encodings. The single-byte encodings Windows-1251 and DOS (CP866) have no Kazakh-specific Cyrillic letters; this can be seen in the encoding tables. If a file is generated in one of them, such letters in names and payment purposes may disappear or be replaced by other characters. This does not affect amounts and BIN, but the payment purpose becomes hard to read. If all the text has turned into gibberish, the encoding in the “Encoding” field does not match the file encoding. Change it and click “Refresh” again.
Wrong account
The balance section and documents in the file are tied to a current account. If this account is not added to the organization record or bank exchange is not enabled for it, the data processor has nowhere to load the documents. A common case: a new account was opened at the bank but not added in 1C. If the database has several organizations, check that the one whose account is in the statement is selected.
Duplicates
Under the exchange standard, a document is identified by account, type, date and number. If an accountant previously entered the same payment manually with a different number or date, the data processor will not link it to the statement line, and the payment will appear a second time. Three rules help: load statements without overlapping periods, do not enter manually what will come with the statement, and keep the closing date turned on.
The reverse direction: payment orders from 1C to the bank
Banks accept payment orders from 1C as files. In Kaspi Pay, import works in the web version and only for payments in tenge; the formats are “Bank client”, MT100 and MT102. In Onlinebank Halyk, you can upload a payment document in MT100, MT102 and 1C Exchange formats, specifying the file encoding. ForteBusiness imports documents from MT, 1C and MTJDE files. If 1C shows “The code in the bank payment system is not specified” when exporting a swift file, the bank BIC details are not filled in the “Banks” catalog.
When statement loading should be automated
Standard exchange copes while there are few statements and counterparties repeat. Consider customization if:
- the statement has dozens of lines per day, and the accountant spends hours choosing the contract and cash flow item;
- the company has several banks and organizations, and each file loads in its own way;
- the bank provides a convenient format (Excel or MT940), but the standard data processor cannot read it;
- Kaspi sales need to be posted according to the sales report, not as a lump sum;
- loading regularly stumbles on the same errors.
What can be done:
- For Halyk, Bank CenterCredit and Altyn Bank — connect 1C:DirectBank and forget about files.
- For a non-standard bank format or your own posting rules — have a 1C programmer customize the data processor.
- With a large volume of lines — automatic posting of the bank statement. AI reads the payment purpose, picks the counterparty, contract and cash flow item, and prepares a draft posting. Nothing gets into the database without the accountant's confirmation.
- To keep releases and exchange settings updated on time — hand the database over for 1C support.
AC PRO has worked with 1C in Almaty since 2018 and connects remotely across Kazakhstan. If you are still choosing a program, a comparison of configurations is in the article which 1C to choose for an LLP or sole proprietor.
Summary: a statement loading checklist
- The statement is exported in the “1C” format, not PDF or Excel.
- The organization account is added in 1C, and bank exchange is enabled for it.
- The “Bank client” settings specify the accounting accounts and the closing date.
- The encoding in the data processor matches the file encoding.
- Counterparties have BIN/IIN filled in, with no duplicates. Kaspi Bank JSC, Kaspi Magazin LLP and Kaspi Pay LLP are added if you work with Kaspi.
- Lines highlighted in red are sorted out before loading, not after.
- After loading, the balance in 1C matches the balance in the bank statement.
If the statement does not load or there are too many lines for manual posting, send us the file and a description of the error. We will tell you what can be fixed with standard tools and where customization is needed.
Frequently asked questions
Can a PDF statement be loaded into 1C?
No. A PDF is for printing and archiving: Halyk, for example, generates it with a facsimile of the bank's seal, and it cannot be edited. For loading, export the statement in the “1C” format.
Where in Kaspi Pay do you export a statement for 1C?
In the Kaspi Pay mobile app: “My Bank” → the account you need → “Statement”. Set the period with a filter and choose the 1C format. Excel and PDF are also available.
Why are some lines red when loading a statement?
This is how the data processor marks lines to look at before loading. Instructions from 1C partners explain the red color differently: an error in the document, a new document or an already loaded one. Select the line, read the explanation and check the number, BIN/IIN and account.
Why do Kaspi sales appear in the statement as lump sums?
That is how the Kaspi Pay statement works: money from sales is shown as two lump sums, the payment received and the fee for it. A breakdown by each sale is in the Kaspi Pay app, and the totals are reconciled with the sales report in the Kaspi Pay web version.
Can Halyk statements be received in 1C without files?
Yes, via 1C:DirectBank: Halyk has worked with this technology since 2017. According to a 1C partner's instructions, you will need 1C:Accounting for Kazakhstan 3.0.35 or newer, an Onlinebank HALYK contract and an eTokenPASS device with a digital signature key.
